Red Sea ReefMat 500 Automatic Fleece Roller Filter
The ReefMat 500 is a fully assembled, plug & play automatic fleece roller filter designed to provide efficient mechanical filtration while conserving valuable sump space. With multiple installation options, a smart drive unit connected to the ReefBeat ecosystem, solid-state water level sensors, and high-flow fleece filtration, the ReefMat 500 makes automated mechanical filtration simple and reliable.
Plug & Play Installation
The ReefMat 500 comes fully assembled and ready to install straight out of the box. It is designed to hang on the sump wall to conserve space, but included mounting legs also allow the unit to be positioned directly inside the sump.
Both the drive unit and inlet hose can be positioned on either side of the ReefMat, allowing the filter to accommodate a wide variety of sump configurations.

Efficient High-Flow Fleece Filtration
The ReefMat 500 uses an efficient, high-flow, skimmer-friendly fleece mat designed to continuously remove particulate waste from aquarium water. The 50 g/m² non-woven polyester fleece provides effective mechanical filtration while automatically advancing clean fleece as needed.

Long-Lasting Fleece Roll
The ReefMat 500 includes one 28-meter fleece roll. On a moderately stocked 80-gallon reef aquarium, each roll should last approximately 5–8 weeks. Actual fleece consumption will vary depending on the aquarium and its bioload.
Bare-bottom aquariums will typically use fleece at a faster rate. Fleece usage may also be significantly higher during the first few weeks after installation while the aquarium adjusts to the new level of mechanical filtration.

Advanced Monitoring & Protection
Solid-state internal and external water level sensors monitor the system without moving parts. ReefBeat provides timely notifications when the fleece requires maintenance or if the fleece becomes stuck or torn.
If an error occurs, the motor will stop attempting to advance additional fleece until the issue has been resolved, helping prevent unnecessary fleece consumption.
End-of-Roll Monitoring
The ReefBeat End of Roll Monitor tracks fleece consumption and provides information about your daily average usage. It also estimates how many days remain before the roll runs out, allowing you to plan replacement rolls in advance.
Integrated Media Basket
An integrated 350mL media basket provides additional space for chemical filtration media, allowing you to combine mechanical and chemical filtration within the ReefMat 500.
Durable Inlet System
The ReefMat 500 includes a kink-resistant, corrugated inlet hose designed for dependable water flow and flexible installation. The hose includes a USA/Metric PVC connector for convenient plumbing compatibility.
